LiveWorld is a JAVA-program which realises GPS-based conducted tours on a mobile phone, smartphone or PDA.

Normal UTM street, hiking or routing maps serve as a basis.  Using a separate external GPS-device that communicates via bluetooth with the mobiles you can determine your actual position in the map on the screen.

LiveWorld contains background information on the most important places of interest in a respective region, such as hotels and restaurants. Furthermore in most cases there are different proposals for special tours. When passing any place of interest with the GPS device switched on, an information window pops up automatically and explains the story behind. However, even without a GPS connection you can use the cursor-mode in order to find out what hides behind the landmark.

The basic program LiveWorld is made available by gistum at no cost. You find it on our website in the download section.

Different contents will be increasingly available in our shop which is goint to be launched soon. However, there will always be some productions that can be downloaded for free. All productions, i.e. maps and tour proposals, can be loaded into LiveWorld, after having been transferred to the phone's memory card. Depending on the supplier this works either online via UMTS or GPRS, after a download or from CD or memory card over your dektop PC by establishing a cable or bluetooth connection with your phone.

Have a nice time with LiveWorld, the new and modern modality, to find your way outdoors.
